Many retailers wwwelop their own scale to grade these special pearls, so it is very important to be clear as to what they are selling. A pearl described as being of "fine quality" really means that it is not perfectly round, and the lustre is not sharp. A reputable retailer will be able to provide you with a detailed written description of their grading system. If they cannot, you should not buy from them.
