Select Pearls uses the GIA A-AAA standard for grading pearls. The GIA scale is the most widely accepted and used grading scale internationally. We do not use exaggerated scales such as 'AAAA' or 'AAA+'.

Select Pearls only sells AA+, AAA, and PSL Certified Hanadama (the very best of the AAA grade). We do not sell the lesser quality pearls as they do not meet our standards.

AA+ Akoya:
Perfectly round, with very high luster, thick nacre, and greater than 90% inclusion free surfaces.

AAA Akoya:
Perfectly round, with highest luster, thick nacre, and greater than 95% inclusion free surfaces.

PSL Certified Hanadama Akoya:
Perfectly round, highest luster, very thick nacre, and no visible inclusions.

Please Note: Our Akoya AAA earrings, rings, and pendants have no significant visible inclusions and are 99% - 100% inclusion free.
